Pleased to announce Neil Thelander and Rob Cook are working together on a new Higher Education Project: seeking elevated insights into the challenges and prospects facing the sector, especially as it emerges from the pandemic.

In the last decade Neil has done significant strategic consulting assignments for about half the Higher Education (HE) sector. Neil Thelander has been engaged by the software vendor iSee for 12 months from May 2021, to help it understand HE and the potential for its product.

The chairman of iSee’s board is Rob Cook, who has been instrumental in HE digital infrastructure for research and its governance for decades, including roles such as CEO of QCIF. Rob will be assisting Neil with research leadership and senior executive interactions.

Neil’s role, with Rob’s help, is to contact leading members of the sector and seek their insights into the current challenges and prospects facing the sector, especially as it emerges from the pandemic. iSee wants to understand HE better, to assess the potential for developing its product to suit HE. As part of his iSee role, for those universities that are interested, Neil would be able to spend extra time with key uni folk, helping with strategic understanding of the uni’s key challenges and digital prospects. The intention is that this process, besides informing iSee, should also provide useful input into uni planning processes later in the year.

iSee has a digital interaction product that appears to be unique and is gaining good traction in the K12 sector, especially for online STEM education. iSee is an Australian product and was originally developed at a Cooperative Research Centre based at Uni of Wollongong. iSee has subsequently undertaken joint research and work-integrated learning projects in several universities to develop its product.
