The New York Times recently reported that in spite of the global downturn, Gartner Group is forecasting IT spending worldwide to increase from US$3.6 trillion in 2012. While IT spend overall will remain stable, the main growth area is in cloud services. Spending on public cloud services alone is expected to increase 20%, with the greatest spend this year in telecommunication services (US$1.69 trillion)
